Peer-to-peer transfers
Send Anywhere does peer-to-peer file transfer using a six-digit code, no account, no upload to a server in the middle. The free tier handles up to 10GB, and it's surprisingly fast for direct device-to-device sends. Best for moving raws between machines on the same network; less useful for persistent sharing.
Send Anywhere is built around a single clever idea: when you want to send a file to someone, generate a six-digit code, they enter the code on their end, and the file moves between you directly. There's no upload-then-download dance through a central server, which means transfers feel faster and the privacy story is cleaner. The free tier covers files up to 10GB per transfer and works on web, mobile, and desktop apps. The Lite plan at $5.99/month lifts the cap to 200GB, adds link management and download page customisation, and lets you use email-based delivery for larger transfers. There's a Standard plan above that with up to 500GB transfers and full download-page customisation, though the exact price is less consistently posted online. For podcast use, this is a strong pick when you and your editor are both on a laptop and need to move a multi-gigabyte raw quickly: open the app on both ends, enter the code, done. It's less of a fit for client work where you want a branded download page and a polished recipient experience. Both sender and receiver need to be online and on the platform during direct transfers, which is the actual catch. The fallback is link-based sharing through their servers, which works but at that point you're using a less polished WeTransfer. Worth keeping in the toolbox.

sender and receiver both need to be online; standard plan pricing not consistently public. None of these are deal-breakers on their own, but they're worth knowing before you commit.
There's a free tier, and you can ship work on it before deciding to upgrade. Confirm what's included on their site.
