Where it comes from
What took me longest to learn is that a good clip is almost never one unbroken stretch. You take out the false start, the tangent, and the ten seconds someone spends getting to the point.
A tool that scores your transcript can only give you its best continuous run. Those cuts were never available to it, which is why you end up with ten suggestions and use one.
We keep clips cut by hand as the reference. Every change to the model runs against them again, and does not ship if the clips move.

What gets thrown out
Some recordings have no clip in them. It says so.
