Can I download the TikTok safe zone template?
Yes. The transparent overlay downloads as a 1080x1920 PNG or SVG, with no sign-up. Drop the PNG straight onto a timeline in Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut or CapCut, upload it to Canva as a layer, or drag the SVG into Figma. A ZIP with every platform is there too. You can also download your own picture or video with the zones drawn on it. Templates and images are free with no sign-up; for video downloads we email you the link.
What is the TikTok safe zone?
The TikTok safe zone is the area where your content remains fully visible without being covered by UI elements. TikTok displays the like button, comments, shares, username, caption, and sound info as overlays on your video. The safe zone helps you position text, faces, and important content where they won't be obscured.
What are the recommended TikTok video dimensions?
TikTok uses a 9:16 vertical aspect ratio. The recommended resolution is 1080x1920 pixels. This is the same format used by Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, making it easy to repurpose content across platforms.
Where does TikTok place its UI elements?
TikTok places action buttons (like, comment, share, bookmark) on the right side of the screen. The username, caption, and sound information appear at the bottom left. The "Following" and "For You" tabs are at the top center. Keep important content away from these areas.
How much space should I leave for captions?
Leave at least 150-200 pixels at the bottom for your username and caption. If you have a longer caption, you'll need more space. TikTok truncates long captions, but viewers can expand them, so consider how your content looks both ways.
Is this tool accurate?
This tool shows a realistic approximation of TikTok's interface. TikTok occasionally updates their UI, and slight variations may occur across devices. However, this gives you an excellent preview of safe zones and helps avoid common mistakes.
