Blubrry is one of the oldest still-operating podcast hosting companies, founded by Todd Cochrane in 2005, with a reputation among long-running independent podcasters as a reliable, no-drama host. Pricing starts at $12 a month for the Standard plan with 125MB of new audio storage per month, Advanced raises that to 400MB, and the Professional plan includes unlimited storage. Bandwidth is unlimited on every plan, which matters for shows with download spikes. Advanced analytics is an additional $10/month add-on. The two things Blubrry is genuinely strongest at are PowerPress and stats. PowerPress is the most widely used WordPress podcasting plugin, full stop, and it gives WordPress-based podcasters native publishing, episode management, monetization options, and tag handling that no other host matches for that platform. Blubrry's IAB-certified statistics have been audited and accepted by ad networks for years, which matters if you're trying to qualify for ad inventory or pitch sponsors with credible numbers. The platform also supports multiple podcasts under one account, team members, premium episode publishing, and submission to Apple and Spotify. The downsides are mostly cosmetic and pricing-structural. The interface feels older than the newer crop of hosts like Buzzsprout, Captivate, or Transistor, and the storage caps on Standard force a step up if you publish weekly. The $10/month analytics add-on is irritating in a market where stats are usually bundled. For WordPress shows or sponsor-pitching shows, Blubrry is still excellent. For everyone else, the design fatigue is real.
