Daily Transcription is the small but reputable shop favoured by Hollywood post houses. All transcribers are US-based W-2 employees, which makes them a non-starter for the cheapest budgets but a safer choice for sensitive IP. Output formats include AVID-ready logs for editors.

Daily Transcription's calling card is human trust, not speed. Editors get clean Avid-compatible logs and producers get the assurance that their unreleased material was not offshored to a transcriber whose location and contract status they can't verify. The transcribers are US-based W-2 employees rather than 1099 contractors, all under NDAs, which is unusual in this industry and exactly the point. For documentary producers handling sensitive interviews, legal teams managing privileged depositions, or post houses cutting unreleased film, that chain of custody is the entire reason to pick Daily Transcription over Scribie or Rev. The output formats are similarly specialised. AVID Media Composer logs, broadcast-ready scripts, and legal verbatim formats come out of the same pipeline. If you're a podcaster making a true crime show with unreleased archival material, or a journalist working on a story whose subjects matter, the format flexibility plus confidentiality is worth the price. The downsides are obvious. Pricing starts at $1.75 per minute and scripted formats are quoted separately, putting Daily well above commodity human transcription services. There's no real-time API, so you're emailing files and getting work back through a web portal, which doesn't scale for high-volume automation. For most podcasters this is the wrong tool. For the few it isn't, there is no real substitute.
