Find That Pod is a weekly podcast discovery newsletter sent every Friday, featuring five new shows the curator thinks you should know about. Each issue is short by design — a sentence or two of commentary per show, plus links to where to listen. The newsletter has been running for over 100 issues and has more than 16,000 readers. The model is personal recommendation rather than algorithm — the curator listens to an enormous number of podcasts, almost every waking hour, to find shows worth surfacing. Out of nearly 2 million podcasts available, around 500 have been recommended over the run. The newsletter has been 100% free, with a Patreon page for readers who want to support distribution and hosting costs as they've grown. Useful for: independent podcasters who want to see what other indie shows are launching, and for listeners looking for a low-friction recommendation feed. Less useful for: serious industry research or large-scale show discovery (you'd need a database like Podchaser for that).
