RØDE's free podcast software for connecting up to four RØDE mics and remote callers.
RØDE mic owners
RØDE Connect is the free software that turns one Mac or PC into a four-mic podcast console using RØDE USB mics. Genuinely free, the mix-minus is solid, and the remote caller feature works. Locked to RØDE hardware, which is the whole point. Worth watching: RØDECaster Studio launched at NAB 2026 as a separate app.
RØDE Connect is RØDE's free play to lock podcasters into their microphone ecosystem, and on its own merits it's one of the best deals in podcast software. Plug up to four RØDE USB microphones into a single computer — they appear as one composite device — and Connect handles routing, EQ, compression, sound pads, and a remote-caller feature with proper mix-minus so guests on Zoom or Discord don't hear themselves echoed back. No licence, no premium tier, no upsell button. RØDE just wants you to buy more of their mics. The hardware tie is the catch. Plug a Shure SM7B or an Audio-Technica AT2020 in and Connect does nothing useful with it. The recording feature is basic — Connect captures the session, but there's no editing layer to clean up afterwards. You'll export and finish in Reaper, Audition, or your DAW of choice. Worth knowing: at NAB 2026 RØDE announced RØDECaster Studio, a new desktop app for Mac and Windows with transcript-based editing and AI tools, tied to their RØDECaster Pro II and Duo hardware. That's a different product and a different conversation. For a podcaster with two or three RØDE USB mics today, Connect is hands-down the easiest way to record a multi-person show on a single computer for zero dollars.
Browser-based studio that records each guest locally in 4K, then helps you edit.
Remote recording, AI editing, hosting and monetization stitched into one workflow.
Remote recording with progressive local uploads, now bundled with Descript.

only works with røde usb microphones; no editing — recording only. None of these are deal-breakers on their own, but they're worth knowing before you commit.
Yes. RØDE Connect is genuinely free — no paywall lurking after a few episodes.
